The best way to jump start your career as a documentary filmmaker is… to make a documentary. It can be a daunting task to go at alone therefore Actuality Media has created the Feature Fellowship.

Imagine spending one year in a developing community where a movement is under way; where changemakers are battling a widespread social or environmental problem – and winning. Working with a partner, overseen by a dedicated production manager, and will the full support of Actuality Media, you can go out into the world and tell an important story that needs to be heard. This is a peace corps for emerging filmmakers.

The Fellowship program begins in September with the goal of completing your film by August of the following year. You choose where you will go, and any part of the world could be your stage. Although research will begin while still at home, continued research, prepping, shooting, editing and preliminary finishing will occur entirely on location. Once the film is almost complete, Actuality Media will take care of professional finishing for delivery to film festivals.
