Actuality Media leads global experiential education opportunities for people who want to tell stories that matter. Our students travel across the globe to learn and practice the art of nonfiction storytelling, making films that feature the work of international changemakers on month-long outreaches.
Our crews are made up of artists, explorers, researchers, writers, journalists, photographers, and of course, filmmakers. They represent multiple countries, hold different interests, arrive with varied experiences and each contribute to the documentary projects in a unique way.
Together we are a band of storytellers, armed with cameras, out to reveal to the good in our world.

Step 1: Submit An Application
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. The earlier you apply the more likely you will be accepted to your preferred location or selected for your preferred crew position.
Step 2: Online Interview
Once we receive your application you will be contacted by email to set up your interview. Interviews are ongoing during the application period. You will have a video chat with an Actuality Media team member to answer any questions you have and determine if the documentary outreach program is right for you.
Step 3: Receive An Invitation
To accept your invitation you will need to sign/return the Crew Member Agreement and submit your Program Fee Deposit. This will secure you a spot on a Documentary Outreach.
Step 4: Confirm Travel
Once you are ready to confirm your intent to travel you will submit the balance of the Program Fee. At this time you will select your preferred crew position from the positions available. If there is one particular crew position you wish to have, we recommend that you complete the application process as soon as possible.
